2011Glycosylation is a complex process of co- or post-translational modification that expands the diversity of the proteome by the addition of different carbohydrate structures. Long believed to be an exclusively eukaryal trait, it is now clear that both Bacteria and Archaea are also capable of attaching glycan moieties to selected proteins.

2004The present article summarises our recent work carried out on enzymes involved in the oxidative stress in the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus. The functional role of three key enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD), thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), and NADH oxidase (NOX) has been investigated.
