The monomer containing sulfone and amide linkages, namely N,N'-bis(4-phenoxybenzoyl)-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl sulfone (BPBDAS), was conveniently prepared by the condensation of 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl sulfone with 4-phenoxybenzoyl chloride in N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc).

Crystallization and melting behavior of poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(aryl ether sulfone) blends
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2003AbstractThe crystallization and melting behavior of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) in blends with poly(aryl ether sulfone) (PES) prepared by melt mixing are investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (WAXS).

Synthesis and properties of poly(aryl ether sulfone ether ketone ketone) (PESEKK)
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2005Abstract4,4′‐bis(Phenoxy)diphenyl sulfone (DPODPS) was synthesized by reaction of phenol with bis(4‐chlorophenyl) sulfone in tetramethylene sulfone in the presence of NaOH. Two poly(aryl ether sulfone ether ketone ketone)s (PESKKs) with high molecular weight were prepared by low temperature solution polycondensation of DPODPS and terephthaloyl chloride

Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)/polyaniline composite proton-exchange membrane
Journal of Membrane Science, 2006Abstract Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) was prepared by sulfonation of commercial Victrex@ PEEK and degree of sulfonation was found to be about 44.5% by 1H NMR. Sulfonated PEEK/polyaniline composite membranes, in order to prevent methanol crossover, were prepared by chemical polymerization of a thin layer of polyaniline (PANI) in the ...

Two N3-substituted imidazoles 1,2-dimethylimidazole and 1-butyl-2-methylimidazole were chosen to functionalize poly(aryl ether ketone), respectively. The generated imidazolium cations could electrostatically react with sulfonate ions of the sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) forming the ionic crosslinking structure of the membranes.

Binary blends of the sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK)–poly(ether imide) (PEI) and SPEEK–polycarbonate (PC), and ternary blends of the SPEEK–PEI–PC, were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. SPEEK was obtained by sulfonation of poly(ether ether ketone) using 95% sulfuric acid.

Modification of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) with phenolic resin
Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2007AbstractSoluble phenol formaldehyde resin containing hydroxymethyl groups has been used to modify sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK). Modification has been carried out with films containing both the polymers and using dimethyl formamide (DMF) as casting solvent at various temperatures under reduced pressure. Associated solvent and the hydrogen‐
