Sulfonated poly(ether sulfone ether ketone ketone)/sulfonated poly(ether sulfone) blend membranes with reduced methanol permeability

High Performance Polymers, 2012
Proton exchange membranes were prepared by blending sulfonated poly(ether sulfone ether ketone ketone) (SPESEKK) with sulfonated poly(ether sulfone) (SPES). The morphology, tensile strength, proton conductivity and methanol permeability of the blend membranes were investigated.

Sulfonated poly(ether sulfone)/sulfonated polybenzimidazole blend membrane for fuel cell applications

European Polymer Journal, 2010
Abstract Polymer blending is used to modify or improve the dimensional and thermal stability of any two different polymers or copolymers. In this study, both sulfonated polybenzimidazole homopolymer (MS-p-PBI 100) and sulfonated poly(aryl ether benzimidazole) copolymers (MS-p-PBI 50, 60, 70, 80, 90) were successfully synthesized from commercially ...

Study on phenol sulfonation by concentrated sulfuric acid: Kinetics and process optimization

Chemical Engineering and Science, 2019
Sulfonation process usually exhibit high reaction rate and low yield and selectivity of product in common reactors for its insufficient micromixing. This work employed a rotating packed bed (RPB) to intensify the micromixing of the phenol sulfonation ...

Pervaporation behavior of asymmetric sulfonated polysulfones and sulfonated poly(ether sulfone) membranes

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2000
The sulfonation of polymers and the pervaporation behavior of asymmetric polymeric membranes are described in this study. We confirmed that the sulfonic acid group was successively introduced into the polymer chain by FTIR and 1H-NMR characterization.

Synthesis of carbohydrate sulfonates and sulfonate esters

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1990
