Sulfuric Acid as Autocatalyst in the Formation of Sulfuric Acid
Sulfuric acid can act as a catalyst of its own formation. We have carried out a computational investigation on the gas-phase formation of H(2)SO(4) by hydrolysis of SO(3) involving one and two water molecules, and also in the presence of sulfuric acid and its complexes with one and two water molecules.

A coordination polymer [Pb(tadt)]n prepared by a microwave‐assisted solvothermal method selectively reduces CO2 into formate under visible light with a high apparent quantum yield of ≈25% at 400 nm. It can function as a pre‐catalyst, along with conductive Ketjen Black, to form an active PbCO3/Pb3(CO3)2(OH)2 mixture that exhibits a high Faradaic ...

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to fuels and chemicals is one of the most attractive routes for CO2 utilization. Current catalysts suffer from low faradaic efficiency of a CO2-reduction product at high current density (or reaction rate).

This study reveals that higher shell S coordination can effectively modulate the spin state of FeN4 site via long‐range electronic interactions, giving rise to the oriented generation of singlet oxygen from peroxymonosulfate activation. Abstract Precise manipulation of coordination structure of single‐atom sites and establishment of schematic ...

Sulfur is a necessary dietary component that can be toxic at excessive concentrations. Animal bodies are about 0.15% sulfur by weight ([NRC, 1988] and [NRC, 1998]). Sulfur is incorporated into many essential molecules, including biotin, chondroitin sulfate, cartilage mucopolysaccharides, co-enzyme A, fibrinogen, glutathione, heparin, lipoic acid ...
