Synergistic Cu‐Fe Interactions Enhance Phase Transformation Kinetics Toward High‐Performance CuFeS2‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
CuFeS2 is found to induce the formation of intermediate phases, highlighting a strong Cu–Fe synergistic effect during conversion reactions in lithium all‐solid‐state batteries (Li‐SSBs). The integrated reaction pathway effectively suppresses phase separation and accelerates reaction kinetics, leading to enhanced electrochemical reversibility and ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Characterization of chemosynthetic microbial mats associated with intertidal hydrothermal sulfur vents in White Point, San Pedro, CA, USA

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
The shallow-sea hydrothermal vents at White Point (WP) in Palos Verdes (PV) on the southern California coast support microbial mats and provide easily accessed settings in which to study chemolithoautotrophic sulfur cycling.

Submicron Metasurface Reconfigured Multiband Smart Windows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a submicron metasurface reconfigured multiband thermochromic smart window. By integrating subwavelength nanostructures into a Fabry−Perot resonator configuration, it mitigates conventional trade‐offs to simultaneously deliver high luminous transmittance and robust solar heating and radiative cooling modulation capabilities ...

Synthesis of AgBiS2 and AgInS2 Based on Formation Energies in Sulfur‐Rich Reducing Flame

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐surface‐area AgInS2 and AgBiS2 nanoparticles were synthesized via enclosed flame spray pyrolysis by tuning flame conditions and formation energies to guide phase formation. Flame parameters were tuned to suppress oxides and enable pure sulfide phase growth.

Effects of bioturbation on carbon and sulfur cycling across the Ediacaran–Cambrian transition at the GSSP in Newfoundland, Canada

open access: yesCanadian journal of earth sciences (Print), 2018
The initiation of widespread penetrative bioturbation in the earliest Phanerozoic is regarded as such a significant geobiological event that the boundary between Ediacaran and Cambrian strata is defined by the appearance of diagnostic trace fossils ...

Insights into the redistribution of sulfur species during cycling in lithium-sulfur batteries using physisorption methods

open access: yes, 2022
S.437-441Nitrogen physisorption was used to analyze textural transformations in lithium-sulfur cathodes during cycling for two alternate electrolyte systems. Significant impact of the electrolyte type on the accessible cathode porosity in the charged vs.
