Structural insights into dissimilatory sulfite reductases: Structure of desulforubidin from Desulfomicrobium norvegicum

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2011
Dissimilatory sulfite reductases (dSiRs) are crucial enzymes in bacterial sulfur-based energy metabolism, which is likely to have been present in some of the earliest life forms on Earth.

Geomicrobiological aspects of the oxidation of reduced sulfur compounds by photosynthesizing bacteria.

open access: yesPolish journal of microbiology, 2007
The activity of photosynthesizing sulfur bacteria in a continuous culture was studied. The bacteria were isolated from the natural environment with the use of the Winogradski column. Isolated bacteria were cultured in synthetic medium and in the effluent from the column containig HS-.

Asymmetric Evolution of Antennal Cell Types Underlies a Derived Ammonia‐Sensing Logic for Ecological Adaptation in Bactrocera dorsalis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative antennal single‐nucleus transcriptomics reveals cell‐type‐dependent transcriptomic divergence in Bactrocera dorsalis, with similar structural cells but divergent sensory neurons. This neuronal diversification is associated with a distinct ammonia‐sensing pathway, linking female attraction to bird‐dropping‐associated cues with nutritional ...

Electronic Chip‐Mimetic Medical Implants for Controllable Sonothermal Treatments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the thermal effect of working electronic chips, which consist of various heterostructures, an sonothermal‐responsive platform has been developed through constructing metal‐semiconductor interface on implants. Biofilm infection and deep vein thrombosis can be successfully treated by controllable ultrasound treatments.
