A 3D nanowire‐network SERS substrate with robust adhesion is developed, featuring pronounced z‐direction optical activity, ultralow detection limit (1.5 × 10−13 M), and excellent signal uniformity (RSD < 10%). Enabled by enhanced light scattering, increased optical density of states, and structural reinforcement, the substrate demonstrates stable, high‐

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.

Ice nucleation in sulfuric acid/organic aerosols: implications for cirrus cloud formation [PDF]
Using an aerosol flow tube apparatus, we have studied the effects of aliphatic aldehydes (C3 to C10) and ketones (C3 and C9) on ice nucleation in sulfuric acid aerosols.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Comparison of sulfuric and oxalic acid anodizing for preparation of thermal control coatings for spacecraft [PDF]
The development of thermal control surfaces, which maintain stable solar absorptivity and infrared emissivity over long periods, is challenging due to severe conditions in low-Earth orbit (LEO).

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Effect of dimethylamine on the gas phase sulfuric acid concentration measured by Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry [PDF]
Sulfuric acid is widely recognized as a very important substance driving atmospheric aerosol nucleation. Based on quantum chemical calculations it has been suggested that the quantitative detection of gas phase sulfuric acid (H_2SO_4) by use of Chemical ...

Materials exist that are useful for gamma scintillation, radiation shielding, neutron‐gamma pulse shape discrimination (PSD), thermal neutron detection, or high refractive index applications. While certain materials have exhibited optimal performance for each of these applications, none achieve multiple functions.

Calculation of composition distribution of ultrafine ion-H2O-H2SO4 clusters using a modified binary ion nucleation theory [PDF]
Thomson's ion nucleation theory was modified to include the effects of curvature dependence of the microscopic surface tension of field dependent, nonlinear, dielectric properties of the liquid; and of sulfuric acid hydrate formation in binary mixtures ...
