Catalytic reduction of sulfuric acid to sulfur dioxide
Abstract The reduction of H2SO4 to SO2 occurs with a relatively good efficiency only at high temperatures, in the presence of catalysts. Some experimental results, regarding conversion of sulfuric acid (96 wt.%) to sulfur dioxide and oxygen, are reported.

Sarcosine oxidase from Bacillus sp. (SoxB) recognizes l‐proline (l‐Pro), d‐proline (d‐Pro), and l‐thioproline (l‐Tpr) as minor substrates. In this study, we measured their absorption spectra, determined the crystal structures of their enzyme complexes, and performed site‐directed mutagenesis of key residues.

Inversely modeling homogeneous H2SO4 − H2O nucleation rate in exhaust-related conditions [PDF]
The homogeneous sulfuric acid–water nucleation rate in conditions related to vehicle exhaust was measured and modeled. The measurements were performed by evaporating sulfuric acid and water liquids and by diluting and cooling the sample vapor with a ...

Equal channel angular pressing of commercial pure copper under low strain amplitude (≈0.48) induces concurrent continuous and localized discontinuous dynamic recrystallization, forming a duplex structure influenced by strain heterogeneity and recovery. Moderate hardening after 4–12 passes results from progressive high‐angle grain boundary formation via

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

Neutral molecular cluster formation of sulfuric acid–dimethylamine observed in real time under atmospheric conditions [PDF]
Significance A significant fraction of atmospheric aerosols is formed from the condensation of low-volatility vapors. These newly formed particles can grow, become seeds for cloud particles, and influence climate.
