Studies of Washing Characteristics of Low Grade Coal and Design of a Coal Washing Plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A low grade coal is a coal which contains impurities which on burning pollute the environment. It contains Sulphates, Calcite, Pyrite, Silica, CaCO3, and Sulphates of CaCO, Sulphates from oxides which combine with silica to form complexes.

Matrix: a complex amalgam of structures and functions in tumor microenvironment

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The matrix is a dynamic, intricate three‐dimensional mesh of biomolecules with both structural and functional properties. This review deals with the complexity of this ‘molecular amalgam’ in the tumor microenvironment and highlights its importance in the maintenance and evolution of tumors by describing certain matrix biomolecules, such as ...

Co‐overexpression of the caloric restriction‐induced mitochondrial factors PGC‐1α and MIPEP upregulates Phospho1 expression in adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

Bacterial Elimination of Sulphates from Mine Waters

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
Sulfates can be found in almost all types of water, in form of simple anion SO42-. Together with hydrogen carbonates and chlorides, sulfates are the main anions in natural water ecosystems.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

IR spectroscopy of sulphates in clinkers and cements

open access: yesMateriales de Construccion, 1986
Infrared spectroscopy is a very useful technique in Cement Chemistry. This work is devoted to the study of a large number of sulphates that should have an incidence in false set phenomena, and they are qualitative and semi-quantitatlvely studied when ...
