Intercalibration of SUMER and CDS on SOHO III SUMER and CDS-GIS
Applied Optics, 2003Simultaneous observation of the same solar sources with different instruments is one way to test prelaunch radiometric calibrations and to detect changes in responsivity with time of extreme-ultraviolet instruments in space. Here we present the results of intercalibration of the SUMER (Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation) spectrometer ...

Intercalibration of SUMER and CDS on SOHO I SUMER detector A and CDS NIS
Applied Optics, 1999The results of an intercalibration between the extreme ultraviolet spectrometers Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) and Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation (SUMER) onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) are presented.

The most familiar fact about the Sumerian system of numeration is that it was based on the number sixty, very much as ours is based on the number ten: thus just as our words twenty and thirty etymologically signify 2X10 and 3 X 10, so did the Sumerian words gesh-min and gesh-esh signify 60 X 2 and 60 X }.

Prehistory ends with Uruk, where we find some of the earliest written records. This large city-state (and it environs) was largely dedicated to agriculture and eventually dominated southern Mesopotamia. Uruk perfected Mesopotamian irrigation and administration systems.

Intercalibration of SUMER and CDS on SOHO II SUMER detectors A and B and CDS NIS
Applied Optics, 2001Results of an intercalibration between the extreme-ultraviolet spectrometers Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) and Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation (SUMER) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) are reported. The results of the joint observing program Intercal_01 are described, and intercalibration results up to ...

Spectroscopic diagnostics for CDS and SUMER
Space Science Reviews, 1994The CDS and SUMER instruments will make extensive use of spectroscopic diagnostics to determine the physical parameters of the solar transition region and corona. A great deal of effort is going into the development of these techniques to ensure that they are accurate.
