Adaptive Genomic Divergence Across Altitudes in Capsella bursa‐pastoris
Genomic divergence was observed between high‐altitude and low‐altitude populations of Capsella bursa‐pastoris in China, consistent with an important role of ecological factors. Candidate adaptive loci associated with enhanced energy metabolism, photoprotection, and growth plasticity under altitudinal stress were identified.

Pre‐industrial land‐use limits contemporary shrub encroachment in the French Alps
Shrub encroachment has become a global phenomenon in recent decades. While global warming in the Arctic is often cited as the primary cause, human‐managed mountain regions have experienced intense historical land‐use that may also play a considerable role.

STUDIES ON POTASSIUM FERTILIZATION AND SUMMER PRUNING ON THOMPSON SEEDLESS GRAPES [PDF]
This study was carried out during the seasons of 2000 and 2001 to evaluate the effect of potassium fertilization, each alone or with summer pruning on vine growth, yield, berry quality and changes in N, P, K, Ca and Mg in leaf petioles of Thompson ...

Abstract The Burren uplands in western Ireland form one of the most extensive and best‐preserved examples of glacio‐karst in Europe. Subsumed by the Irish ice sheet during the Late Pleistocene, granite erratic boulders and in situ silica veins in the limestone bedrock provide a rare opportunity to reconstruct the timing and rate of deglaciation ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Preharvest light management is increasingly used to enhance yield and fruit quality in soilless systems, yet its effects on unripe melon fruits remain poorly understood. This study evaluated the impact of supplemental red–blue light‐emitting diode (LED) lighting applied during cultivation in a closed‐cycle hydroponic system on ...

The Influence of Summer Pruning and Cropping on Growth and Fruiting of Apple
Abstract Trees of apple [ Malus domestica Borkh. cvs. Jonathan/Malling (M) 26] were summer-pruned each August from 1978-1980 by heading all shoots longer than 10 cm, and their response was compared to trees receiving only a light dormant-pruning by thinning-out cuts ...
