On Weyl sums over primes and almost primes
In the paper under review, new estimates are established for exponential sums over primes of the form \[ f(\alpha)=\sum\limits_{P\leq p0\) is an absolute constant, and the implied \(\ll\)-constant depends at most on \(k\) and \(\varepsilon\). The above bound for \(f(\alpha)\) is then employed to make progress on several questions related to the Waring ...

ON WEYL SUMS OVER PRIMES IN SHORT INTERVALS [PDF]
The main results extend to sums over primes in a short interval earlier estimates by the author for "long" Weyl sums over primes.

On Primes Represented by Quadratic Polynomials
This is a survey article on the Hardy-Littlewood conjecture about primes in quadratic progressions. We recount the history and quote some results approximating this hitherto unresolved conjecture.Comment: six(6) pages, minor changes were ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Linnik's approximation to Goldbach's conjecture, and other problems
We examine the problem of writing every sufficiently large even number as the sum of two primes and at most $K$ powers of 2. We outline an approach that only just falls short of improving the current bounds on $K$.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The twin prime conjecture [PDF]
This is an exposition of recent developments in the theory of bounded differences between primes. Readers are expected to be beginners of analytic number theory.

On the Lang-Trotter and Sato-Tate Conjectures on Average for Polynomial Families of Elliptic Curves
We show that the reductions modulo primes $p\le x$ of the elliptic curve $$ Y^2 = X^3 + f(a)X + g(b), $$ behave as predicted by the Lang-Trotter and Sato-Tate conjectures, on average over integers $a \in [-A,A]$ and $b \in [-B,B]$ for $A$ and $B ...
