Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Heating of near-Earth objects and meteoroids due to close approaches to the Sun

open access: yes, 2009
It is known that near-Earth objects (NEOs) during their orbital evolution may often undergo close approaches to the Sun. Indeed it is estimated that up to ~70% of them end their orbital evolution colliding with the Sun.

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Probing the Thermodynamic State of a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) Up to 1 AU

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2020
Several earlier studies have attempted to estimate some of the thermodynamic properties of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) either very close to the Sun or at 1 AU.

Investigating Remote-Sensing Techniques to Reveal Stealth Coronal Mass Ejections

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Eruptions of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the Sun are usually associated with a number of signatures that can be identified in solar disc imagery. However, there are cases in which a CME that is well observed in coronagraph data is missing a clear ...

Sun shield [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A shading device which is capable of compactly storing a flexible shade on a biased, window shade type spring roller is disclosed. It is controlled to deliver the shade selectively to either its operative shading or compact storage ...

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

TRACKING TYPE III RADIO BURST SOURCES IN THE SOLAR CORONA BY HELIOGRAPHIC MEANS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2014
We present the preliminary results of heliographic measurements of solar  type  III  radio  bursts  in  the lowfrequency range (16.5-33 MHz) using  the UTR-2  radio heliograph.

Predicting the cognitive correlates of sun protective behaviour : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Psychology at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Previous research has explored the cognitive correlates of sun protective behaviour and has found that intention to use skin protection is likely to affect an individuals decision to use such behaviour.

A Prediction Formula of Supersoft X-ray Phase of Classical Novae

open access: yes, 2009
On the basis of the recently developed universal decline law of classical novae, we propose prediction formulae for supersoft X-ray on and off times, i.e., t_{X-on} = (10 \pm 1.8) t_3 days and t_{X-off} = (5.3 \pm 1.4) (t_3)^{1.5} days for 8 < t_3 < 80 ...
