Trigeminal neuralgia and its variants. Management and diagnosis

open access: yesOral Surgery, Volume 13, Issue 4, Page 404-414, November 2020., 2020
Abstract Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs) can cause severe facial pain. The differential diagnosis can be very challenging as both present with a sudden, usually unilateral, severe, recurrent pain in the distribution of one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve; with TACs including one or more autonomic symptom.
