Transparent formulations of a liposoluble sunscreen agent in an aqueous medium

International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 1990
SynopsisTransparent formulations of a liposoluble sunscreen in an aqueous medium were studied, taking into account the different chemicals of a selected system situated in the vertices of a regular tetrahedron: sunscreen agent, co‐solvent, (surfactants ± mineral oil) mixture (in the tetrahedron base) and water as the fourth component.

[Evaluation of sunscreening agents].

Zeitschrift fur Hautkrankheiten, 1989
Sunscreen preparations are evaluated according to their protection power against biological effects of ultraviolet radiation. UV-induced phenomena found on protected skin are compared with those on unprotected skin; thus the sunprotection factor is estimated.

Methods for the evaluation of melanin as a sunscreen agent

1999
This thesis outlines the development of four new procedures (1) to synthesise melanins reproducibly, (2) to objectively determine the degree of structural similarity between melanins (3) to use diffuse reflectance to objectively measure skin colour and (4) to evaluate the SPF of melanin and other sunscreen formulations using in vitro methods.

[New aspects in the development of sunscreening agents].

Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 2018
Sunlight is indispensable for life. Skin aging is determined not only by genetic factors but also by the influence of solar radiation which in all its spectral regions induces free radicals in the human skin. Below a critical concentration, free radicals are important for signaling processes in the human body. Exceeding a critical threshold value (FRTV)
