Hemispheric sunspot numbers 1874--2020 [PDF]
We create a continuous series of daily and monthly hemispheric sunspot numbers (HSNs) from 1874 to 2020, which will be continuously expanded in the future with the HSNs provided by SILSO.

Sunspot numbers: Implications on Eastern African rainfall
Following NASA’s prediction of sunspot numbers for the current sunspot cycle, Cycle 24, we now include sunspot numbers as an explanatory variable in a statistical model. This model is based on fitting monthly rainfall values with factors and covariates

Cycles and universality in sunspot numbers _fluctuations
We analyze the famous Wolf's sunspot numbers. Surprisingly, we discovered that the distribution of the sunspot number fluctuations for both the ascending and descending phases is close to the universal nonparametric Bramwell-Holdsworth-Pinton (BHP ...

Forecasting long-term sunspot numbers using the LSTM-WGAN model [PDF]
The sunspot number, an indicator of solar activity, is vital for forecasting variations in solar activity and predicting disturbances of the geomagnetic field.

Responses and Periodic Variations of Cosmic Ray Intensity and Solar Wind Speed to Sunspot Numbers
To investigate the periodic behaviour and relationship of sunspot numbers with cosmic ray intensity and solar wind speed, we present analysis from daily data generated from 1995 January to 2018 December. Cross-correlation and wavelet transform tools were

The Ratio Between the Number of Sunspot and the Number of Sunspot Groups [PDF]
Data from three solar observatories, Learmonth, Holloman, and San Vito, are used to study the variations in the average number of sunspots per sunspot group. It is found that the different types of sunspot groups and the number of sunspots in these groups have different solar cycle and cycle to cycle variations.

Relationship between group sunspot numbers and Wolf sunspot numbers [PDF]
AbstractContinuous wavelet transform and cross‐wavelet transform have been used to investigate the phase periodicity and synchrony of the monthly mean Wolf (Rz) and group (Rg) sunspot numbers during the period of June 1795 to December 1995. The Schwabe cycle is the only one common period in Rg and Rz, but it is not well‐defined in case of cycles 5–7 of

ANALYSIS OF SUNSPOT NUMBER FLUCTUATIONS [PDF]
Monthly averages of the sunspot number visible on the sun, observed from 1749, Zurich Observatory, and from 1848 other observatories, have been analyzed. This time signal presents a frequency power spectra with a clear 1/fα behavior with α≃0.8±0.2.

Relationships Between foF2 and Various Solar Activity Proxies
To study ionospheric climate, to model the ionosphere (e.g., the International Reference Ionosphere—IRI) and to investigate its long‐term changes and trends, solar activity proxies/indices have been used, because long and homogeneous data series of solar
