Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Signal reconstruction via operator guiding

open access: yes, 2017
Signal reconstruction from a sample using an orthogonal projector onto a guiding subspace is theoretically well justified, but may be difficult to practically implement.

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Super-resolution reconstruction for a single image based on self-similarity and compressed sensing

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2018
Super-resolution image reconstruction can achieve favorable feature extraction and image analysis. This study first investigated the image’s self-similarity and constructed high-resolution and low-resolution learning dictionaries; then, based on sparse ...

Engineering Deformation and Failure in Diamond Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Lattices via 3D Wall‐Thickness Grading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Image Super-resolution Reconstruction Based on Sparse Representation and Guided Filtering [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
In view of the fact that the image super-resolution reconstruction method cannot effectively reconstruct more high frequency image information in the process of image processing and storage, this paper proposes an image super-resolution reconstruction ...

Statistical performance analysis of a fast super-resolution technique using noisy translations

open access: yes, 2016
15 pagesInternational audienceIt is well known that the registration process is a key step for super-resolution reconstruction. In this work, we propose to use a piezoelectric system that is easily adaptable on all microscopes and telescopes for ...

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Quantum limits of super-resolution in reconstruction of optical objects

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate analytically and numerically the role of quantum fluctuations in reconstruction of optical objects from diffraction-limited images. Taking as example of an input object two closely spaced Gaussian peaks we demonstrate that one can improve ...
