Hydrogen‐enhanced SCC of WAAM Inconel 625 in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. Hydrogen charging reduces passive film stability (lower corrosion potential) and promotes pitting at Laves phase/matrix interfaces. Stress corrosion cracks propagate along Laves‐rich regions, leading to quasi‐cleavage brittle fracture.

Field Exposure of Duplex Stainless Steel in the Marine Environment: The Impact of the Exposure Zone
Owing to its corrosion resistance, stainless steel is a sustainable alternative to carbon steel as a structural material in challenging seawater environments. Studies on carbon steel indicate that among all marine corrosion zones (i.e., atmospheric zone,

Analysis of Super Duplex Stainless Steel Properties as an Austenite-Ferrite Composite
Super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) is considered as a composite formed from a microstructure of an approximately equal mixture of two primary constituents (γ-austenite and α-ferrite phases) and the secondary precipitates (sigma, chi, alpha-prime, etc.). While the formation of these phases affects the properties of SDSS, however there are no rules that

Transferable Hot‐Deformation Flow‐Curve Modeling Across Steels Through Transfer Learning
We propose a transferable sequence model that moves steel hot‐deformation ML beyond the “one‐case, one‐model” paradigm. Pretrained across compositions/windows and personalized with four extreme‐condition curves, it improves accuracy and robustness in 10‐fold evaluation.

Development of Super-purifying Ferritic Stainless Steels by 150 t VD/VOD Process
Four grades of super-purifying ferritic stainless steel 409LI, 439M , 460LI and 470LI without containing Ni and Mo are pilot-produced by using a new 150 t VD/VOD unit with EAF-AOD-VOD three steps process at AST, ThyssenKrupp.

To support future alloy development a powder mixture is processed by laser additive manufacturing. The powder mixture containing Mo‐ and W‐rich tracers is processed by powder bed fusion using single and double laser exposure and by directed energy deposition which provides drastically enlarged melt pools.

Tribocorrosion Behavior of Medium-Entropy Super Austenitic Stainless Steel in Acidic Environments
Although extensive studies have examined the tribocorrosion behavior of stainless steels, the performance of medium-entropy austenitic super stainless steels (MEASS) under severe combined corrosion and mechanical wear conditions has not been fully ...

Laser powder bed fusion of JIS SKD61 tool steel is systematically optimized using a Taguchi design and ANOVA. Hatch spacing and layer thickness are identified as dominant parameters controlling surface roughness and tensile strength. Subsequent tempering at 600°C improves microstructural stability and mechanical performance, enabling high‐density SKD61
