Realization study of superconducting fault current limiter
2011 1st International Conference on Electric Power Equipment - Switching Technology, 2011The fault current for large-scale power systems is higher than normal and interception using a current breaker can thus be difficult. To address this problem, power system reorganization and circuit breaker upgrades can be considered. However, existing systems could be operated by introducing a superconducting fault current limiter.

Basic concepts of superconducting fault current limiter
2016 IEEE 1st International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems (ICPEICES), 2016The need for power demand has been ever increasing due to numerous day-to-day causes. With increase in power demand, the fault levels witness a general rise. The superconducting fault current limiters have been seen as a much needed power device to limit the fault current in the electrical power system.

Development of Superconducting AC Fault Current Limiter
1990The authors have developed a new superconducting fault current limiter whose impedance during normal operation is very small. During fault conditions, the limiter behaves as a superconducting reactor. The limiter consist of a superconducting limiting coil and a superconducting trigger coil.
