A New Type of DC Superconducting Fault Current Limiter [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2019
A new type of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) for dc applications is proposed. This SFCL consists of a current transmission/limiting coil, an iron-core, and a set of superconductor rings. The superconductor rings are placed between the current transmission/limiting coil and the iron-core.

A novel concept of fault current limiter based on saturable core in high voltage DC transmission system

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
To develop mechanical circuit breaker in high voltage direct current (HVDC) system, a fault current limiter is required. Traditional method to limit DC fault current is to use superconducting technology or power electronic devices, which is quite ...

Three‐Dimensional Anomalous Hall Sensing Enabled By Spin–Orbit Torque Driven Domain Reconfiguration In Chiral Multilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional magnetic field sensor is realized in chiral W/CoFeB/MgO multilayers, where spin–orbit torques reversibly reconfigure homochiral stripe domains. The symmetry of the torque enables offset‐free in‐plane sensing, while the reproducible domain reconfiguration extends the linear out‐of‐plane range. An anomalous Hall readout delivers large‐

Impedance Compensation Method Considering Unbalanced Ground Fault with SFCL in a Power Distribution System

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
As the energy demand increases due to the developing electric power industry, the fault current becomes higher during the fault time. A new approach is needed to reduce a fault current in a power distribution system, since the fault currents influence ...
