Supercritical carbon dioxide spray systems

Metal Finishing, 1997
Supercritical carbon dioxide as a viscosity reduction solvent was first commercialized in 1990. 1 The process is designed to overcome many of the issues facing the coatings industry today. Initially, reduction of air pollution was the sole goal, but as the technology develops, a myriad of other benefits are being recognized.

Solubility of Cannabinol in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2010
Cannabinol (CBN) is a decomposition product of the cannabinoid (-)-¿9-tetrahydrocannabinol (¿9-THC), the main active compound of cannabis. The solubility of CBN in supercritical carbon dioxide was determined at (314, 327, and 334) K and in the pressure range from (13.0 to 20.2) MPa by using an analytical method with a quasi-flow apparatus.

Experiments on Displacing Methane in Coal by Injecting Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Energy & Fuels, 2018
Storage of carbon dioxide in coal seams can reduce the effect of carbon dioxide on human lives and enhance the production of methane. The phase of carbon dioxide changes into the supercritical state in deep coal seams.

Adsorption of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide on Silica

Langmuir, 2001
In this work, the adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide on silica have been measured with a gravimetric method at nine different temperature values (from 312 up to 466 K) and at pressure levels up to 366 bar. The adopted technique allows for a direct evaluation of the density that is measured simultaneously to the adsorption load, thus avoiding ...

Dyeing of Cotton in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Dyes and Pigments, 1998
Abstract The dyeing of cellulosic fibers with disperse and natural dyes was attempted using supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2SCF) as solvent system. The dye uptake was strongly increased if cotton was pretreated with polyethylene glycol (PEG), a known plasticizing agent of cellulose, while reasonable wet-washing and light fastness properties were ...

Synthesis of Fluoropolymers in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Science, 1992
Fluoropolymers are used in many technologically demanding applications because of their balance of high-performance properties. A significant impediment to the synthesis of variants of commercially available amorphous fluoropolymers is their general insolubility in most solvents except chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
