Plastics are indispensable in daily life, with both production and waste generation increasing annually. As the world strives for net‐zero emissions, advancing plastic recycling technologies has become a global priority. Pyrolytic liquefaction is a promising approach for recovering chemical feedstocks, including fuel fractions, from waste plastics ...

Optimised production and extraction of astaxanthin from the yeast Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous [PDF]
Currently, astaxanthin demand is fulfilled by chemical synthesis using petroleum-based feedstocks. As such, alternative pathways of natural astaxanthin production attracts much research interest.

Renewable‐based furanics derived from 5‐HMF are used to synthesize cyclic organic carbonates (COCs) via CO2 insertion into epoxides. The BHTHF/NaBr complexing system shows high activity, achieving 94–99% epoxide conversion and 70–99% COC selectivity under mild conditions.

Dynamical and thermodynamic crossovers in the supercritical region of a holographic superfluid model [PDF]
Many physical systems, including classical fluids, present in their phase diagram the competition between two phases that are separated by a line of first-order phase transitions which terminates at a so-called critical point. Despite several proposals, in the supercritical region beyond the critical point, whether the two phases can still be ...

Enantioselective Anion‐Binding‐Catalyzed Nucleophilic Addition to 4‐Quinolones
The first organocatalytic enantioselective formal 1,4‐addition to 4‐quinolones has been developed. This method relies on chiral triazole‐based anion‐binding catalysis using enol nucleophiles, complementing previous metal catalytic approaches. Moderate to good yields and enantioselectivities were achieved by in situ silylation and formation of a key ...

Entropy scaling based viscosity predictions for hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel fuels up to extreme conditions [PDF]
An entropy scaling based technique using the Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory is described for predicting the viscosity of hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel fuels up to high temperatures and high pressures. The compounds found in diesel

ABSTRACT In the last decade, by integrating experimental and computational analyses, it was demonstrated that halogen bond (HaB) may contribute to binding and enantiorecognition mechanisms underlying the HPLC enantioseparation of halogenated chiral analytes by using cellulose tris(3,5‐dimethylphenylcarbamate) (CDMPC)‐based chiral columns and n‐hexane ...
