Hunting method affects cortisol levels in harvested mountain hares (Lepus timidus)
The direct effects of hunting on hunted individuals and populations have been well known for a long time. However, recently there has also been an increased focus on the indirect, non‐lethal effects of hunting. When approached by a possible threat such as a predator, the prey releases various stress hormones into the bloodstream.

Analysis of Enantiomers in Products of Food Interest
The separation of enantiomers has been started in the past and continues to be a topic of great interest in various fields of research, mainly because these compounds could be involved in biological processes such as, for example, those related to human ...

Abstract Anthraquinone dyes are known for their significant colour (brightness of shade in the red, blue and green areas) and light fastness properties compared with other synthetic dyes (such as azo‐based dyes). However, challenging multi‐step synthesis of anthraquinones and limited access to fewer substituents result in insufficient reactivity ...

Abstract Microextraction methods such as hollow fibre‐liquid phase microextraction (HF‐LPME), dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME), single‐drop microextraction (SDME) and ultrasound‐assisted emulsification microextraction (USAEME) have become prominent for analysing pharmaceuticals in wastewater. HF‐LPME, particularly the three‐phase system,

Physics of rapidly expanding supercritical solutions: A first approach [PDF]
We consider the case when a supercritical fluid emerges at sonic speed from a small orifice in a high pressure chamber. The subsequent expansion causes a pressure drop and the fluid then enters a regime where its equation of state in $P-V$ space becomes concave towards the origin. This is the signal for an expansion shock to occur in a non-ideal fluid.

Cost‐Effective Nanosensor Solutions for Ultra‐Sensitive Detection of Metronidazole
ABSTRACT Metronidazole (MNZ) is a widely used imidazole antibiotic effective against bacterial and protozoal infections, including giardiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and antibiotic‐associated colitis. However, prolonged and excessive use of MNZ can lead to serious side effects, such as peripheral neuropathies, toxicity, and optic ...
