Runoff on rooted trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce an idealised model for overland flow generated by rain falling on a hill-slope. Our prime motivation is to show how the coalescence of runoff streams promotes the total generation of runoff.

The Free Overfall in Circular Sections with Different Flat Base in Supercritical and Subcritical Flow Regimes

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2017
Introduction: A free overfall offers a simple device for flow discharge measuring by a single measurement of depth at the end of the channel yb which is known as the end depth or brink depth.

Analytic theory of narrow lattice solitons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The profiles of narrow lattice solitons are calculated analytically using perturbation analysis. A stability analysis shows that solitons centered at a lattice (potential) maximum are unstable, as they drift toward the nearest lattice minimum.

Experimental study of the hydraulic jump on reverse bed with porous screens

open access: yesApplied Water Science, 2019
Nowadays, the porous screens have been used extensively in open channels to prevent erosion in ditches as the water in supercritical state flows past the screen which forces the formation of a hydraulic jump upstream of the screen and produces ...

Magnetic control of the pair creation in spatially localized supercritical fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We examine the impact of a perpendicular magnetic field on the creation mechanism of electron-positron pairs in a supercritical static electric field, where both fields are localized along the direction of the electric field.

Numerical models and theoretical analysis of supercritical bend flow

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2018
The flow pattern of supercritical flow in bend channels is complicated due to the shock wave phenomenon, which creates difficulties with regard to research and design of bend channels.

Comportamiento de las ecuaciones de Saint-Venant en 1D y aproximaciones para diferentes condiciones en régimen permanente y variable

open access: yesTecnura, 2015
The importance of the behavior of the Saint Venant equations and its implications for flow analysis applied to models of hydraulic transit is the main theme of this research, where the basis of the applications and uses of these mathematical models is ...

EFFECT OF ORGANIC MATTER CONTENT AND TYPE OF MINERAL MATTER ON THE OIL YIELD FROM OIL SHALES; pp. 206–221 [PDF]

open access: yesOil Shale, 2012
The effect of organic matter (OM) content and type of mineral matter (MM) on the oil yield at retorting of different natural oil shale samples, those demineralized by acid treatment ones, and the kukersite OM flotation concentrate mixed with individual

Hydrodynamic Characteristic and Prediction Study of 1, 1, 1, 2-Tetrafluoroethane under Supercritical Pressure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
The supercritical organic Rankine cycle (S-ORC) is highly effective for utilizing medium- and low-temperature heat sources. This study investigated the hydrodynamic behavior of supercritical-pressure 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R134a) within a horizontal ...

Extended theory of hydraulic hysteresis in open channel flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The occurrence of hysteresis in a supercritical, open-channel flow approaching an obstacle has been recognized and investigated both experimentally and theoretically over the last few decades. However, the available theory and experimental investigations
