ML Workflows for Screening Degradation‐Relevant Properties of Forever Chemicals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The environmental persistence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) necessitates efficient remediation strategies. This study presents physics‐informed machine learning workflows that accurately predict critical degradation properties, including bond dissociation energies and polarizability.

Analytical solution to problems of hydraulic jump in horizontal triangular channels

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2013
A hydraulic jump is formed in a channel whenever supercritical flow changes to subcritical flow in a short distance. It can be used in triangular ditch irrigation to raise the downstream water surface.

Inhibitory Decay and Supercritical Brain Dynamics During Sleep Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep deprivation progressively shifts human brain dynamics from near‐critical toward supercritical states, as revealed by neuronal avalanche analysis of resting‐state fMRI. These changes track subjective sleep pressure rather than vigilance lapses and show marked network heterogeneity. A circuit model suggests that reduced inhibitory efficacy provides

Numerical Analysis on Intermittent Flow in a Longitudinal Section of Bingham Fluid along a Slope

open access: yes, 2003
The transition process of intermittent flow in a longitudinal section of Bingham fluid from initial distribution to fully developed state was numerically investigated in this paper.

ZrO2 Aerogel‐Supported Pd Nanoparticles for Photothermal CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanoparticle‐based aerogels are promising catalysts for photothermal reactions due to optical transparency, high surface area, and low thermal conductivity. Here, we present deposition of Pd nanoparticles on ZrO2 aerogel granules by a wet‐impregnation approach.

Evaluation of pressure sensor placement into a floor of sewer line with supercritical slope

open access: yes, 2015
This bachelor thesis investigates an installation of pressure sensor into sewage line bottom with supercritical slope. Original construction for installation of the sensor was unsatisfactory, therefore so called “bottom pocket” was designed.

Response of Hydrodynamic Characteristics to Tillage-Induced Microtopography of Rill Erosion Processes under Heavy Rainfalls

open access: yesLand
The occurrence and development of rill erosion depends on the hydraulic characteristics of water flow and underlying soil surface features. Our experiments include one-rainfall-intensity treatments (2.0 mm min−1) and various microtopographic levels based

Temperature dependent control of the solubility of gallium nitride in supercritical ammonia using mixed mineralizer

open access: yesChemistry Central Journal, 2018
Using a mass-loss method, we investigated the solubility change of gallium nitride (GaN) in supercritical ammonia with mixed mineralizers [ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) + ammonium bromide (NH4Br) and NH4Cl + ammonium iodide (NH4I)].

Characteristics and evolution of diurnal foehn events in the Dead Sea valley [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
This paper investigates frequently occurring foehn in the Dead Sea valley. For the first time, sophisticated, high-resolution measurements were performed to investigate the horizontal and vertical flow field.

Supercritical-flow Deposits (Sfds) and Their Distribution in a Submarine Channel System, Middle Eocene, Ainsa Basin, Spanish Pyrenees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Studies of supercritical-flow deposits (SFDs) and their spatial distribution in ancient deep-water systems should provide an additional tool to improve the understanding of the flow dynamics during deposition and the architecture of sandbodies.
