Artificial structures for human‐machine interfaces with closed‐loop interaction

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Artificial structures bridge sensing and feedback in closed‐loop human‐machine interfaces by providing geometry‐enabled mechanical and functional programmability. This review maps the role of artificial structures in diverse sensing modalities and feedback strategies, and illustrates their integration into closed‐loop interaction systems, highlighting ...

Anatomical analysis of the radial nerve and arcade of Frohse in the cubital fossa using human cadavers

open access: yesFolia Morphologica
BACKGROUND: The radial nerve (RN) is a peripheral nerve that originates from the posterior bundle of the brachial plexus and carries C5-Th1 fibres. In the cubital fossa, the radial nerve divides into a superficial branch of the radial nerve (SBRN) and a ...

Sonographic localisation of lymph nodes suspicious of metastatic breast cancer to surgical axillary levels

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 119-138, March 2025.
Sonographic imaging is used to identify the presence, number and location of malignant lymph nodes. Axillary lymph nodes suspicious of harbouring breast cancer metastasis can be localised to three surgical axillary levels. This paper will unpack the axillary anatomy, muscular sonographic landmarks, surgical axillary lymph node levels and the ...

Ultrasound-guided supracondylar radial nerve block for closed reduction of a distal radius fracture in the emergency department: Case report

open access: yesTrauma Case Reports
Background: Closed reduction and a closed cast are common treatments for patients with acute distal radius fractures in the emergency room. Many of the common analgesic techniques such as hematoma block may not be effective, which can hinder the ...

Compression of the radial nerve at the elbow by a ganglion: two case reports

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2009
Introduction Radial nerve compression by a ganglion in the radial tunnel is not common. Compressive neuropathies of the radial nerve in the radial tunnel can occur anywhere along the course of the nerve and may lead to various clinical manifestations ...

Machine Learning‐Based Recurrence and Survival Prediction in a Large Institutional Upper Extremity Soft Tissue Sarcoma Cohort

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Upper extremity soft tissue sarcomas (UE STS) present unique management challenges; existing prognostic nomograms were developed from mixed anatomic cohorts. This study develops anatomically specific machine learning (ML) models to predict UE‐STS outcomes and benchmarks them against established tools.

Therapeutic JAK Inhibition in Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Three patients with idiopathic subglottic stenosis and rheumatoid arthritis began JAK inhibitor therapy, after which the mean surgical‐free interval between endoscopic dilations rose from 317 to 631 days and the annualized dilation rate fell from 1.24 to 0.38 per patient‐year. Figure 2 shows this as a per‐patient timeline.
