Supernova Remnants Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2017
AbstractSupernova remnants are the site of a number of physical processes (shock-heating, non-equilibrium ionization, hydrodynamic instabilities, particle acceleration, magnetic field amplification). Their related emission processes provide us with a large set of observational data.

Dynamics of Supernova Bounce in Laboratory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2019
We draw attention to recent high explosive (HE) experiments which provide compression of macroscopic amount of matter to high, even record, values of pressure in comparison with other HE experiments. The observed bounce after the compression corresponds to processes in core-collapse supernova explosions after neutrino trapping.

ALMA Spectral Survey of Supernova 1987A – Molecular Inventory, Chemistry, Dynamics and Explosive Nucleosynthesis [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2017
We report the first molecular line survey of Supernova 1987A in the millimetre wavelength range. In the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) 210–300 and 340–360 GHz spectra, we detected cold (20–170 K) CO, 28SiO, HCO+ and SO, with weaker ...

Nuclear Quests for Supernova Dynamics and Nucleosynthesis

Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics, 2011
Nuclear physics plays a crucial role in various aspects of core-collapse supernovae. The collapse dynamics is strongly influenced by electron captures. Using the modern many-body theory, improved capture rates have been derived recently with the important result that the process is dominated by capture on nuclei until neutrino trapping is achieved ...

Supernovae and interstellar gas dynamics

Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1967
The efficiency of the transfer of energy from supernovae into interstellar cloud motions is investigated. A lower limit of about 0·002 is obtained, but values near 0·01 are more likely. Taking all uncertainties in the theory and observations into account, the energy per supernova, in the form of relativistic particles or high-velocity matter, needed to
