Neutrino-nucleus reactions and their role in supernova nucleosynthesis
Neutrino reactions on nuclei play important roles for the dynamics of supernovae and their associated nucleosynthesis. This manuscript summarizes the current status in deriving the relevant cross sections for supernova neutrinos and discusses the ...

Explosion Dynamics of Parametrized Spherically Symmetric Core-Collapse Supernova Simulations [PDF]
We report on a method, PUSH, for triggering core-collapse supernova (CCSN) explosions of massive stars in spherical symmetry. This method provides a framework to study many important aspects of core collapse supernovae: the effects of the shock passage ...

Dynamical spatial curvature as a fit to Type Ia supernovae [PDF]
Few statements in cosmology can be made without assuming a cosmological model within which to interpret data. Statements about cosmic acceleration are no exception to this rule, and the inferred positive volume acceleration of our universe often quoted in the literature is valid in the context of the standard Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW)

Dynamics of millicharged dark matter in supernova remnants [PDF]
Dark matter could have a small electromagnetic charge, provided the charge-to-mass ratio is much less than that of electrons or protons. This candidate, commonly known as millicharged dark matter (mDM), would form a plasma and interact with the interstellar medium and electromagnetic fields within galaxies. In general, understanding the dynamics of mDM

A bis formamide molecule was found to feature afterglow properties, in both crystalline powder state and in polyvinyl alcohol films. This was attributed to the intermolecular packing that allows H‐trapped emitting state and/or clustering‐triggered emission, which was intensified upon insertion of tetramethylbenzidine as a doping agent.

Simulating molecular cloud regulated star formation in Galaxies [PDF]
This thesis is primarily concerned with understanding the process of galaxy formation via the simulation of the interstellar medium, star formation and supernova feedback.

Shock Breakout from Stellar Envelopes: The Relativistic Limit
We calculate the observed luminosity and spectrum following the emergence of a relativistic shock wave from a stellar edge. Shock waves propagating at 0.6 < Γ _sh β _sh , where Γ _sh is the shock Lorentz factor, and β _sh is its associated reduced ...

Deprotonotion of a β‐diketiminate ligand with a tethered secondary amine resulted in highly stable heteroleptic complexes, but the formation of the dianionic ligand could not be achieved. The alkaline‐earth (Ae) metal chemistry of a β‐diketiminate (BDI) ligand with a bulky Ar‐substituent and a pendant amine arm was investigated. The ligand precursor HC[
