Superparamagnetic nanoparticle ensembles [PDF]

open access: yesSuperlattices and Microstructures, 2012
Magnetic single-domain nanoparticles constitute an important model system in magnetism. In particular ensembles of superparamagnetic nanoparticles can exhibit a rich variety of different behaviors depending on the inter-particle interactions.

Superparamagnetic Properties of Hemozoin [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
AbstractWe report that hemozoin nanocrystals demonstrate superparamagnetic properties, with direct measurements of the synthetic hemozoin magnetization. The results show that the magnetic permeability constant varies from μ = 4585 (at −20 °C) to 3843 (+20 °C), with the values corresponding to a superparamagnetic system.

Superparamagnetic colloids in viscous fluids [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractThe influence of a magnetic field on the aggregation process of superparamagnetic colloids has been well known on short time for a few decades. However, the influence of important parameters, such as viscosity of the liquid, has received only little attention.

Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles for Atherosclerosis Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2014
The production of magnetic nanoparticles of utmost quality for biomedical imaging requires several steps, from the synthesis of highly crystalline magnetic cores to the attachment of the different molecules on the surface. This last step probably plays the key role in the production of clinically useful nanomaterials.

Manganese ferrite nanocubes as an MRI contrast agent

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Facile synthesis of superparamagnetic, highly crystalline, manganese ferrite nanocubes (MnNCs) is reported. X-ray diffraction depicts single-phase face-centred cubic spinel and the electron microscopy represents the nearly monodispersed cube-like ...

Fabrication of New Fe3O4/PVA/(C6H7O6Na)n Nanohybrid Ferrogels for Antibacterial Applications [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2021
New Fe3O4/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/sodium alginate (C6H7O6Na)n nanohybrid ferrogels for antibacterial applications were fabricated. The crystal and molecular structures along with optical and magnetic properties of the prepared samples were characterized.

Shaping the Assembly of Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2019
Superparamagnetism exists only in nanocrystals, and to endow micro/macro-materials with superparamagnetism, superparamagnetic nanoparticles have to be assembled into complex materials. Most techniques currently used to produce such assemblies are inefficient in terms of time and material.

Effects of Superparamagnetic Nanoparticle Clusters on the Polymerase Chain Reaction

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2012
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method is widely used for the reproduction and amplification of specific DNA segments, and a novel PCR method using nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles has recently been reported. This paper reports on the effects

Nanochains Formation of Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2011
We present simulations on the aggregation of nanometer sized polydispersed superparamagnetic particles under the application of an external magnetic field. We make use of a Monte Carlo method, using a cluster-moving approach, as previously used in literature for ferrofluids. van der Waals attraction and magnetic anisotropy are taken into account in the
