Thermal stability of coupled ferromagnetic and superparamagnetic particles

open access: yes, 2002
We consider a single-domain ferromagnetic particle with uniaxial anisotropy coupled to a single-domain soft ferromagnetic particle (superparamagnetic particle).

Quantum interference oscillations of the superparamagnetic blocking in an Fe8 molecular nanomagnet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the dynamic magnetic susceptibility and the superparamagnetic blocking temperature of an Fe8 single molecule magnet oscillate as a function of the magnetic field Hx applied along its hard magnetic axis. These oscillations are associated with

Magnetotransport effects of ultrathin Ni80Fe20 films probed in-situ

open access: yes, 2009
We have investigated the magnetoresistance of Permalloy (Ni80Fe20) films with thicknesses ranging from a single monolayer to 12 nm, grown on Al2O3, MgO and SiO2 substrates.

Magnetic Viscosity Effect on Grounded-Wire TEM Responses and Its Physical Mechanism

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Magnetic viscosity (MV) effect is a disturbance to the transient electromagnetic method (TEM). This effect will cause slow decay at the intermediate-late time of the TEM responses, leading to erroneous interpretation.

Magnetic needles and superparamagnetic cells [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2007
Superparamagnetic nanoparticles can be attached in great numbers to pathogenic cells using specific antibodies so that the magnetically-labeled cells themselves become superparamagnets. The cells can then be manipulated and drawn out of biological fluids, as in a biopsy, very selectively using a magnetic needle. We examine the origins and uncertainties

Direct evidence for ferromagnetic spin polarization in gold nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We report the first direct observation of ferromagnetic spin polarization of Au nanoparticles with a mean diameter of 1.9 nm using X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). Owing to the element selectivity of XMCD, only the gold magnetization is explored.

Sol-gel Approach for the Synthesis and Characterization of Mg and Cu Substituted Mn-Zn Ferrite Nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering
The Mn-Zn ferrite with a composition of Mn0.25Mg0.08Cu0.25Zn0.42Fe2O4 has been synthesized in this study using the chemical sol-gel technique at a pH of 7. The sample was prepared and subsequently annealed at a temperature of 700°C.

Microfluidic Synthesis of Vinblastine-Loaded Multifunctional Particles for Magnetically Responsive Controlled Drug Release

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
Vinblastine (VBL) is a major chemotherapeutic drug; however, in some cases, it may cause severe side effects in patients with cancer. Designing a novel VBL pharmaceutical formulation is a crucial and emerging concern among researchers for reducing the ...

Thermal relaxation of magnetic clusters in amorphous Hf_{57}Fe_{43} alloy

open access: yes, 2007
The magnetization processes in binary magnetic/nonmagnetic amorphous alloy Hf_{57}Fe_{43} are investigated by the detailed measurements of magnetic hysteresis loops, temperature dependence of magnetization, relaxation of magnetization and magnetic ac ...
