Actuating superparamagnetic nanoparticle monolayers

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
Magnetically responsive, mechanically flexible microstructures are desirable for applications ranging from smart sensors to remote-controlled actuation for surgery or robotics. Embedding magnetic nanoparticles into a thin matrix of elastic material enables high flexibility while exploiting the magnetic response of the individual particles.

Fabrication of Yttrium Ferrite Nanoparticles by Solution Combustion Synthesis

open access: yesEurasian Chemico-Technological Journal, 2014
The ternary oxide system Y-Fe-O presents fascinating magnetic properties that are sensitive to the crystalline size of particles. There is a major challenge to fabricate these materials in nano-crystalline forms due to particle conglomeration during ...

Nanoscale Analysis of Superparamagnetic Systems

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2017
The paper refers to a kind of nanoscale characterization of superparamagnetic materials above and below the so-called blocking temperature. It is propose to apply the Stoner–Wohlfarth model of nanoparticles magnetization supplemented by the two-level kinetic model, determining behavior in T > 0.

On Using Magnetic and optical methods to determine the size and characteristics of nanoparticles embedded in oxide semiconductors

open access: yes, 2010
Films of oxides doped with transition metals are frequently believed to have magnetic inclusions. Magnetic methods to determine the amount of nanophases and their magnetic characteristics are described.

Electronic phase separation in insulating (Ga,Mn)As with low compensation: Super-paramagnetism and hopping conduction

open access: yes, 2018
In the present work, low compensated insulating (Ga,Mn)As with 0.7% Mn is obtained by ion implantation combined with pulsed laser melting. The sample shows variable-range hopping transport behavior with a Coulomb gap in the vicinity of the Fermi energy ...
