Trapdoor Stability of Drained Cohesive-Frictional Soils Using Terzaghi’s Superposition Method
Most previous trapdoor stability studies were centered on undrained clay in two dimensions in the past few decades. Very few works were reported for cohesive-frictional soils in two- and three-dimensions.

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

The title compounds, C23H22O4, (I), and C24H24O5, (II), differ in the presence of a methoxy group instead of a hydrogen atom between two methoxy groups attached to the phenyl ring of the phenyl acetate moiety, which affects not only the symmetry and ...

Associative-commutative superposition [PDF]
We present an associative-commutative paramodulation calculus that generalizes the associative-commutative completion procedure to first-order clauses. The calculus is parametrized by a selection function (on negative literals) and a well-founded ordering on terms.

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Can laptops be left inside passenger bags if motion imaging is used in X-ray security screening?
This paper describes a study where a new X-ray machine for security screening featuring motion imaging (i.e. 5 views of a bag are shown as an image sequence) was evaluated and compared to single view imaging available on conventional X-ray screening ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...
