Uniform continuity and Brézis–Lieb-type splitting for superposition operators in Sobolev space
Using concentration-compactness arguments, we prove a variant of the Brézis–Lieb-Lemma under weaker assumptions on the nonlinearity than known before.

On superposition operators in spaces BV(0,1)
Abstract For a function f : [ 0 , 1 ] × R → R the superposition operator S f : R [ 0 , 1 ] → R [ 0 , 1 ] is defined by the formula S f ( φ ) ( t ) = f ( t , φ ( t ) ) . We study properties of operators S f in Banach spaces B V φ ( 0 , 1 )

Solving the Bose-Hubbard model in new ways [PDF]
We introduce a new method for analysing the Bose-Hubbard model for an array of bosons with nearest neighbor interactions. It is based on a number-theoretic implementation of the creation and annihilation operators that constitute the model.

Quantum Interference in the Kirkwood-Rihaczek representation [PDF]
We discuss the Kirkwood-Rihaczek phase space distribution and analyze a whole new class of quasi-distributions connected with this function. All these functions have the correct marginals.

Existence of monotonic $L_\varphi$-solutions for quadratic Volterra functional-integral equations
We study the quadratic integral equation in the space of Orlicz space $E_{\varphi}$ in the most important case when $\varphi$ satisfies the $\Delta_2$-condition.

Experimental implementation of arbitrary entangled operations
Quantum entanglement lies at the heart of quantum mechanics in both fundamental and practical aspects. The entanglement of quantum states has been studied widely both theoretically and experimentally, however, the entanglement of operators has not been ...

Constructive control of quantum systems using factorization of unitary operators [PDF]
We demonstrate how structured decompositions of unitary operators can be employed to derive control schemes for finite-level quantum systems that require only sequences of simple control pulses such as square wave pulses with finite rise and decay times ...

On Generalized Step-Functions and Superposition Operators [PDF]
Abstract For a given σ-ideal of sets, the notion of a generalized stepfunction is introduced and investigated in connection with the problem of sup-measurability of certain functions of two variables, regarded as superposition operators.

Electron vortex beams in nonuniform magnetic fields
We consider the quantum theory of paraxial nonrelativistic electron beams in nonuniform magnetic fields, such as the Glaser field. We find the wave function of an electron from such a beam and show that it is a joint eigenstate of two (z-dependent ...
