Positiveness of nonnegative supersolutions of elliptic equations [PDF]
We prove the positiveness of the nonnegative supersolutions of equation (1), provided that the solutions are nontrivial whenever the structure condition (2) is fulfilled by A and B. Let G be a bounded domain in the n-dimensional Euclidean space E . Let p > 1, W (G), and W>(G) be the usual Sobolev spaces.

Parabolic Minkowski convolutions of viscosity solutions to fully nonlinear equations [PDF]
This paper is concerned with the Minkowski convolution of viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear parabolic equations. We adopt this convolution to compare viscosity solutions of initial-boundary value problems in different domains.

Optimal investment policy and dividend payment strategy in an insurance company [PDF]
We consider in this paper the optimal dividend problem for an insurance company whose uncontrolled reserve process evolves as a classical Cram\'{e}r--Lundberg process. The firm has the option of investing part of the surplus in a Black--Scholes financial

ABSTRACT Regularity properties of solutions for a class of quasi‐stationary models in one spatial dimension for stress‐modulated growth in the presence of a nutrient field are proven. At a given point in time the configuration of a body after pure growth is determined by means of a family of ordinary differential equations in every point in space ...

On uniqueness of solutions to complex Monge–Ampère mean field equations
Abstract We establish the uniqueness of solutions to complex Monge–Ampère mean field equations when (minus) the temperature parameter is small. In the local setting of bounded hyperconvex domains, our result partially confirms a conjecture by Berman and Berndtsson. Our approach also extends to the global context of compact complex manifolds.

On the Finite Time Convergence of Cyclic Coordinate Descent Methods [PDF]
Cyclic coordinate descent is a classic optimization method that has witnessed a resurgence of interest in machine learning. Reasons for this include its simplicity, speed and stability, as well as its competitive performance on $\ell_1$ regularized ...

Fractional Kirchhoff-Type and Method of Sub-supersolutions
In the present paper, we are interested in investigating the existence of positive solutions of a new class of fractional Kirchhoff via the sub and supersolutions technique. For this, we first need to investigate two results through lemmas.

Abstract We consider the global dynamics of finite energy solutions to energy‐critical equivariant harmonic map heat flow (HMHF) and radial nonlinear heat equation (NLH). It is known that any finite energy equivariant solutions to (HMHF) decompose into finitely many harmonic maps (bubbles) separated by scales and a body map, as approaching to the ...
