A search for exact superstring vacua [PDF]

open access: yesIl Nuovo Cimento A, 1994
We investigate $2d$ sigma-models with a $2+N$ dimensional Minkowski signature target space metric and Killing symmetry, specifically supersymmetrized, and see under which conditions they might lead to corresponding exact string vacua. It appears that the

Superstring cosmology for N_4 = 1 -> 0 superstring vacua [PDF]

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, 2010
We study the cosmology of perturbative superstring theory during the radiation(-like) era for semi-realistic backgrounds with initial N=1 supersymmetry.

Geometry and Quantum Symmetries of Superstring Vacua [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
We report on some recent progress which has been made in the understanding of general features of superstring compactifications. The following aspects are discussed: special geometry of the moduli space of (2,2) vacua, target-space duality symmetries, differential equations for the periods of holomorphic three-forms, and higher loop (genus) string ...

Anomalous U(1)s in Type I superstring vacua

open access: yes, 2002
We perform a systematic string computation of the masses of anomalous U(1) gauge bosons in four-dimensional orientifold vacua, and we study their localization properties in the internal (compactified) space.

Classification of Flat Directions in Perturbative Heterotic Superstring Vacua with Anomalous U(1) [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1997
We develop techniques to classify D- and F-flat directions for N=1 supersymmetric string vacua of the perturbative heterotic string theory, which possess an anomalous U(1) gauge group at the tree level.

Spacetime Variable Superstring Vacua [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1993
In a general superstring vacuum configuration, the `internal' space (sector) varies in spacetime. When this variation is non-trivial only in two space-like dimensions, the vacuum contains static cosmic strings with finite energy per unit length and which is, up to interactions with matter, an easily computed topological invariant.

On the Role of Torsion and Higher Forms in Off‐Shell Supergravity

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 71, Issue 8-9, September 2023., 2023
Abstract The presence of a nonvanishing totally antisymmetric (super)torsion, equivalent to an axial vector, and higher forms in the “new minimal” and “old minimal” off‐shell formulations of N=1$\mathcal {N}=1$, D=4$D=4$ supergravity is elaborated. The geometric superspace approach and study both the geometric Lagrangian and the off‐shell closure of ...

Enhancement of Out‐of‐Plane Spin–Orbit Torque by Interfacial Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 23, 2023., 2023
The oxidation in CuPt/ferromagnet interface is found to be able to enhance the out‐of‐plane (OOP) torque and associated spin–orbit torque (SOT) switching efficiency with remaining threefold rotational symmetry. The enhancement is independent of the device shapes, magnetic materials, or magnetization easy axis.

Mass Hierarchies and Quantum Gravity Constraints in DKMM‐refined KKLT

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 71, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract We carefully revisit the mass hierarchies for the KKLT scenario with an uplift term from an anti D3‐brane in a strongly warped throat. First, we derive the bound resulting from what is usually termed “the throat fitting into the bulk” directly from the Klebanov‐Strassler geometry.

Spinor–vector duality in heterotic SUSY vacua [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We elaborate on the recently discovered spinor–vector duality in realistic free fermionic heterotic vacua. We emphasize the interpretation of the freely-acting orbifolds carried out on the six internal dimensions as coordinate-dependent compactifications;
