Stable non-supersymmetric vacua in the moduli space of non-critical superstrings [PDF]

open access: greenNuclear Physics B, 2006
We study a set of asymmetric deformations of non-critical superstring theories in various dimensions. The deformations arise as Kaehler and complex structure deformations of an orthogonal two-torus comprising of a parallel and a transverse direction in the near-horizon geometry of NS5-branes.

Weakly coupled de Sitter vacua with fluxes and the swampland

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
It was recently argued that the swampland distance conjecture rules out dS vacua at parametrically large field distances. We point out that this conclusion can in principle be avoided in the presence of large fluxes that are not bounded by a tadpole ...

Systematic study of the SO(10) symmetry breaking vacua in the matrix model for type IIB superstrings [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of High Energy Physics, 2011
We study the properties of the space-time that emerges dynamically from the matrix model for type IIB superstrings in ten dimensions. We calculate the free energy and the extent of space-time using the Gaussian expansion method up to the third order.

Anomalous U(1)s in Type I superstring vacua

open access: green, 2002
We perform a systematic string computation of the masses of anomalous U(1) gauge bosons in four-dimensional orientifold vacua, and we study their localization properties in the internal (compactified) space. We find that N=1 supersymmetric sectors yield four-dimensional contributions, localized in the whole six-dimensional internal space, while N=2 ...

Type IIB flux compactifications with h 1,1 = 0

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We revisit flux compactifications of type IIB string theory on ‘spaces’ dual to rigid Calabi-Yau manifolds. This rather unexplored part of the string landscapes harbors many interesting four-dimensional solutions, namely supersymmetric N $$ \mathcal{N} $$

Charge completeness and the massless charge lattice in F-theory models of supergravity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We prove that, for every 6D supergravity theory that has an F-theory description, the property of charge completeness for the connected component of the gauge group (meaning that all charges in the corresponding charge lattice are realized by massive or ...

The String Swampland and de Sitter Vacua: A Consistent Perspective for Superstrings and Multi-fold Universes

open access: gold, 2023
In a multi-fold universe, gravity emerges from Entanglement through the multi-fold mechanisms. As a result, gravity-like effects appear in between entangled particles that they be real or virtual. Long range, massless gravity results from entanglement of massless virtual particles.
