Abstract We analyse and clarify the finite‐size scaling of the weakly‐coupled hierarchical n$n$‐component |φ|4$|\varphi |^4$ model for all integers n≥1$n \ge 1$ in all dimensions d≥4$d\ge 4$, for both free and periodic boundary conditions. For d>4$d>4$, we prove that for a volume of size Rd$R^{d}$ with periodic boundary conditions the infinite‐volume ...

We review localization techniques for functional integrals which have recently been used to perform calculations in and gain insight into the structure of certain topological field theories and low-dimensional gauge theories.

Domain Walls, Black Holes, and Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics [PDF]
Supersymmetric solutions, such as BPS domain walls or black holes, in four- and five-dimensional supergravity theories with eight supercharges can be described by effective quantum mechanics with a potential term.

Modeling General Asymptotic Calabi–Yau Periods
Abstract In the quest to uncovering the fundamental structures that underlie some of the asymptotic Swampland conjectures the authors initiate the general study of asymptotic period vectors of Calabi–Yau manifolds. The strategy is to exploit the constraints imposed by completeness, symmetry, and positivity, which are formalized in asymptotic Hodge ...

Quantum Field Theory in the Large N Limit: a review
We review the solutions of O(N) and U(N) quantum field theories in the large $N$ limit and as 1/N expansions, in the case of vector representations. Since invariant composite fields have small fluctuations for large $N$, the method relies on constructing

Counting Yang-Mills Dyons with Index Theorems [PDF]
We count the supersymmetric bound states of many distinct BPS monopoles in N=4 Yang-Mills theories and in pure N=2 Yang-Mills theories. The novelty here is that we work in generic Coulombic vacua where more than one adjoint Higgs fields are turned on ...

Foundations of Ghost Stability
Abstract The authors present a new method to analytically prove global stability in ghost‐ridden dynamical systems. The proposal encompasses all prior results and consequentially extends them. In particular, it is shown that stability can follow from a conserved quantity that is unbounded from below, contrary to expectation.

Geometric Relational Framework for General‐Relativistic Gauge Field Theories
Abstract It is recalled how relationality arises as the core insight of general‐relativistic gauge field theories from the articulation of the generalized hole and point‐coincidence arguments. Hence, a compelling case for a manifestly relational framework ensues naturally.

From BPS spectra of Argyres-Douglas theories to families of 3d TFTs
Vertex operator algebras (VOAs) arise in protected subsectors of supersymmetric quantum field theories, notably in 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 superconformal field theories (SCFT) via the Schur sector and in twisted 3d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 theories via

De Sitter Cosmic Strings and Supersymmetry [PDF]
We study massive spinor fields in the geometry of a straight cosmic string in a de Sitter background. We find a hidden N=2 supersymmetry in the fermionic solutions of the equations of motion.
