Exploring T‐Duality for Self‐Dual Fields

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract Avatars of T‐duality within Sen's formalism for self‐dual field strengths in various dimensions are studied. This formalism is shown to naturally accommodate the T‐duality relation between Type IIA/IIB theories when compactified on a circle without the need for imposing the self‐duality constraint by hand, as is usually done. The study of this

Split supersymmetry breaking from Stückelberg mixing of multiple U(1)'s

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We show that multiple Abelian sectors with Stückelberg mass-mixing simply break supersymmetry via Fayet-Iliopoulos D-terms and straightforwardly mediate it to the other sectors.

Higher Spin Superfield Interactions with the Chiral Supermultiplet: Conserved Supercurrents and Cubic Vertices

open access: yesUniverse, 2018
We investigate cubic interactions between a chiral superfield and higher spin superfields corresponding to irreducible representations of the 4 D , N = 1 super-Poincaré algebra.

Asymptotically‐Flat Black Hole Solutions in Symmergent Gravity

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 4, April 2024.
Abstract Symmergent gravity is an emergent gravity model with an R+R2$R+R^2$ curvature sector and an extended particle sector having new particles beyond the known ones. With constant scalar curvature, asymptotically flat black hole solutions are known to have no sensitivity to the quadratic curvature term (coefficient of R2$R^2$). With variable scalar

QCD and Supersymmetry

open access: yesCrossing the Boundaries, 2009
We review the connection between QCD and supersymmetric theories. We focus on the non-perturbative large- N (planar) correspondence between one-flavor QCD and pure supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory ([Formula: see text]). We explain how non-perturbative quantities in QCD, such as the quark condensate, can be evaluated by using the corresponding non ...

Higgs and BSM Studies at the LHC

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
The discovery and study of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider of CERN has proven the validity of the Brout–Englert–Higgs mechanism of mass creation in the standard model via spontaneous symmetry breaking.

Octonionic Magical Supergravity, Niemeier Lattices, and Exceptional & Hilbert Modular Forms

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 2, February 2024.
Abstract The quantum degeneracies of Bogomolny‐Prasad‐Sommerfield (BPS) black holes of octonionic magical supergravity in five dimensions are studied. Quantum degeneracy is defined purely number theoretically as the number of distinct states in charge space with a given set of invariant labels.

Supersymmetry and Inflation

open access: yes, 1998
Inflation is a promising solution to many problems of the standard Big-Bang cosmology. Nevertheless, inflationary models have proved less compelling. In this chapter, we discuss why supersymmetry has led to more natural models of inflation. We pay particular attention to multifield models, both with a high and a low Hubble parameter.

Planarizable Supersymmetric Quantum Toboggans

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2011
In supersymmetric quantum mechanics the emergence of a singularity may lead to the breakdown of isospectrality between partner potentials. One of the regularization recipes is based on a topologically nontrivial, multisheeted complex deformations of the ...
