Space time interpretation of S-duality and supersymmetry violations of T-duality [PDF]
The S--duality transformations of the lowest order string effective theory admit a space time interpretation for 4-dim backgrounds with one Killing symmetry. Starting from pure gravity and performing a sequence of intertwined T-S-T duality transformations we obtain new solutions which are always pure gravitational. In this fashion, S-duality induces an

Entanglement dualities in supersymmetry [PDF]
We derive a general relation between the bosonic and fermionic entanglement in the ground states of supersymmetric quadratic Hamiltonians. For this, we construct canonical identifications between bosonic and fermionic subsystems. Our derivation relies on a unified framework to describe both, bosonic and fermionic Gaussian states in terms of so-called ...

Supersymmetry and dualities [PDF]
Duality transformations with respect to rotational isometries relate supersymmetric with non-supersymmetric backgrounds in string theory. We find that non-local world-sheet effects have to be taken into account in order to restore supersymmetry at the string level.

Perturbative higher-derivative terms in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 6 asymmetric orbifolds
We analyse the perturbative four-point amplitudes in the simplest string theory examples of T-fold backgrounds, which enjoy N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 6 supersymmetries in four dimensions.

Spacetime Supersymmetry and Duality in String Theory
I discuss the role of spacetime supersymmetry in the interplay between strong/weak coupling duality and target space duality in string theory which arises in string/string duality. This can be seen via the construction of string soliton solutions which in $N=4$ compactifications of heterotic string theory break more than $1/2$ of the spacetime ...

Deformation of d = 4, N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ ≥ 5 supergravities breaks nonlinear local supersymmetry
We study d = 4, N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ ≥ 5 supergravities and their deformation via candidate counterterms, with the purpose to absorb UV divergences. We generalize the earlier studies of deformation and twisted self-duality constraint to the case with ...

Superconformal duality-invariant models and N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 SYM effective action
We present N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 superconformal U(1) duality-invariant models for an Abelian vector multiplet coupled to conformal supergravity. In a Minkowski background, such a nonlinear theory is expected to describe (the planar part of) the low ...

Supersymmetry and Dualities in Various Dimensions [PDF]
In these lectures we review how some of the recent developments in string theory are closely related to generic properties of supersymmetry. Lectures given at the Nato Advanced Study Institute on "Strings, Branes and Dualities", Cargese, May 26 - June 14, 1997.

Worldsheet (anti)instanton bound states in type II on T 2
The 1/8 BPS D 6ℛ4 coupling in type II string theory compactified on T 2 receives contributions from worldsheet instantons and anti-instantons wrapping the T 2, up to genus three in string perturbation theory.
