Twisted Moduli and Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2002
We consider twisted moduli contributions to supersymmetry breaking in effective type I string constructions involving intersecting D5_i and D9-branes using Goldstino angles to parametrise the supersymmetry breaking. It is well known that twisted moduli enter at tree-level into the gauge kinetic functions, and can provide new sources of gaugino mass if ...

Higgs in nilpotent supergravity: Vacuum energy and Festina Lente

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
In this note we study supergravity models with constrained superfields. We construct a supergravity framework in which all (super)symmetry breaking dynamics happen in vacuum with naturally (or otherwise asymptotically) vanishing energy.

Unified models of the QCD axion and supersymmetry breaking

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2017
Similarities between the gauge meditation of supersymmetry breaking and the QCD axion model suggest that they originate from the same dynamics. We present a class of models where supersymmetry and the Peccei–Quinn symmetry are simultaneously broken.

Supersymmetry Breaking at Low Energies [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl.192-193:40-60,2009, 2009
These lectures, given at the Cargese Summer school in 2008, provide an introduction to dynamical supersymmetry breaking and gauge mediation, with emphasis on the recent appreciation of the possible role of metastable supersymmetry breaking, and the evolving understanding of General Gauge Mediation.

Preheating, Supersymmetry Breaking, and Baryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1996
Fluctuations of scalar fields produced at the stage of preheating after inflation are so large that they can break supersymmetry much stronger than inflation itself. These fluctuations may lead to symmetry restoration along flat directions of the effective potential even in the theories where the usual high temperature corrections are exponentially ...

New Models of Gauge and Gravity Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.D55:5508-5519,1997, 1996
We show that supersymmetry breaking in a class of theories with SU(N) x SU(N-2) gauge symmetry can be studied in a calculable sigma model. We use the sigma model to show that the supersymmetry breaking vacuum in these theories leaves a large subgroup of flavor symmetries intact, and to calculate the masses of the low-lying states.

Dynamical Supersymmetry Breaking [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1997
We review mechanisms of dynamical supersymmetry breaking. Several observations that narrow the search for possible models of dynamical supersymmetry breaking are summarized. These observations include the necessary and sufficient conditions for supersymmetry breaking.

Spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in inhomogeneous supersymmetric field theories and BPS vacua

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We study spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in inhomogeneous extensions of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supersymmetric field theory models in 4-dimensions.
