Flank free modified supine position: A new modification for supine percutaneous nephrolithotomy
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the standard management for large and/or complex urolithiasis, but the standard patient position for PCNL is undecided. With the patient prone PCNL has several drawbacks, while when supine, as described previously, PCNL has mechanical limitations.

In this study, a cuff‐free, less‐invasive surgical approach for vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) by combining ultrathin Y‐shaped kirigami electrodes is developed with a chemically cross‐linked hydrogel adhesive (hydrogel‐kirigami). Unlike conventional cuff implantation, which may damage nerves and nearby critical vessels, this new technique minimizes ...

Unexpected rhabdomyolysis with myoglobinuria in a patient in the supine position
We report a case of post-operative rhabdomyolysis following transmandibular buccopharyngectomy without reconstruction in a patient remaining in the supine position throughout the procedure. Muscle compression induced by a cushion used during the procedure had probably contributed to the rhabdomyolysis. Outcome was favourable without acute renal failure.

The development of hydrogel‐impregnated robust interlocking nano connector (HiRINC) aims to address stent migration by improving tissue adhesion and reducing mechanical mismatch in self‐expandable metallic stents (SEMSs). The network‐like porous layer of HiRINC enhances adhesion and energy dissipation, demonstrates through ex vivo and in vivo tests ...

Popliteal Access in the Supine Position for Endovenous Management of Deep Vein Thrombosis
Introduction: The preferred venous access site for percutaneous management of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is the popliteal vein, with the patient in the prone position.

This study introduces a textile‐based capacitive pressure sensor featuring a triangular prism microstructure, which significantly enhances sensitivity to 5.52% kPa−¹ and supports a wide sensing range up to 330 kPa. The sensor's performance is validated in a 4‐channel capacitive pressure‐based force myography (cFMG) armband for gesture recognition ...

UMLS-ChestNet: A deep convolutional neural network for radiological findings, differential diagnoses and localizations of COVID-19 in chest x-rays [PDF]
In this work we present a method for the detection of radiological findings, their location and differential diagnoses from chest x-rays. Unlike prior works that focus on the detection of few pathologies, we use a hierarchical taxonomy mapped to the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) terminology to identify 189 radiological findings, 22 ...

Selective lesioning of SuM glutamatergic neurons promoted the induction of and delayed emergence from sevoflurane anesthesia and increased sevoflurane sensitivity. Optogenetic stimulation of SuM glutamatergic neurons or the SuM‐MS projection promoted behavioral arousal and cortical activation under steady‐state sevoflurane anesthesia and reduced the ...

Diallyl trisulfides (DATs) selectively induce cuproptosis in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) by targeting Ras‐related protein Rab‐18 (RAB18) and regulating lipophagy. DATs promote RAB18 phase separation, enhance mitochondrial‐associated membrane structures (MAMs) formation, and increase succinylation of dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (DLD) at K320.
