"Demand Constraints and Economic Growth" [PDF]

open access: yes
In recent years the U.S. has seemed to achieve the best of all possible worlds: robust economic growth, very low unemployment, and low inflation. Many attribute this performance to fewer supply side constraints, as the U.S.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.

Data‐Driven Feedback Identifies Focused Ultrasound Exposure Regimens for Improved Nanotheranostic Targeting of the Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Machine learning models predict in real time the onset of harmful microbubble collapse during microbubble‐enhanced focused ultrasound (MB‐FUS) and enable dynamic adjustment of sonication to prevent cavitation‐induced damage. This predictive control expands the safe operating window for bloodbrain barrier opening, enhancing nanoparticle delivery and ...

Potent and Selective IGF‐IIR‐Recruiting Bifunctional Molecules for Targeted Lysosomal Degradation of Extracellular and Membrane Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeting chimeras (LYTACs) enable degradation of extracellular and membrane proteins via lysosomal trafficking. We report a novel IGF‐II mutant (Del1–7, Y27L) that selectively engages IGF‐IIR while avoiding IGF‐IR and IR‐A. mutIGF‐II–based LYTACs enhance target internalization and degradation and support a genetically encodable, all‐protein ...

Domestic water pricing with household surveys : a study of acceptability and willingness to pay in Chongqing, China [PDF]

open access: yes
In determining domestic water prices, policy makers often need to use information about the demand side rather than only relying on information about the supply side.

Effectiveness of Pre‐Transplant Dual GLP‐1 Receptor Agonist and SGLT2 Inhibitor Therapy on All‐Cause Mortality in Organ Transplantation Candidates with Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes: a Target‐Trial Emulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This target trial emulation in solid organ transplant candidates with obesity and type 2 diabetes evaluates whether pre‐transplant dual therapy with GLP‐1 receptor agonists plus SGLT2 inhibitors is associated with post‐transplant mortality and kidney graft outcomes compared with monotherapy or usual care, using multinational electronic health records ...

An economists' manifesto on unemployment in the European Union. [PDF]

open access: yes
This manifesto challenges a pernicious orthodoxy that has gripped Europe's policy makers. It is that demand- and supply-side policies must have different aims, that a limited number of supply-side policies are to be devoted to fighting unemployment, and ...
