A Call for Screening: Hearing Loss and Chronic Otitis Media in Immigrants to Sweden
Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 2, April 2026.The prevalence of chronic otitis media was 2.3% and hearing impairment was found in 15.2% in this cohort of adult immigrants to Sweden attending Swedish language classes. As learning a new language is crucial to integration into society, we advocate for the inclusion of screening audiometry in the general health check‐up for immigrants.
