Consistent detachment of supracrustal rocks from a fixed subduction depth in the Cyclades

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Science Letters, 2022
While subduction zones recycle Earth's crust back into the mantle, high pressure metamorphic rocks exposed at the surface testify to occasional crustal subduction failure. Balancing the budget of Earth's recycling factory requires a fundamental comprehension of how and when some crustal rocks are returned to the surface.

Geochemistry and tectonic setting of the supracrustal rocks from the central part of the Bundelkhand craton, India [PDF]

open access: yesJGEET: Journal of Geoscience, Engineering, Environment and Technology, 2019
Supracrustal rocks (mafics and ultramafics) occurs along with banded iron formation, and felsic volcanics around Babina, Dhaura, and Mauranipur linear east-west trends in central part of the Bundelkhand craton represent Archean crust.

Paleozoic supracrustal rocks near Cheticamp, Nova Scotia [PDF]

open access: yesAtlantic Geology, 1982
Near Cheticamp, northwestern Cape Breton Island, a sequence of supracrustal rocks overlies and cuts granite previously dated at 530±44 million years, as veil as older, presumably Precambrian gneisses. Rhyolite dikes feeding the supracrustal sequence yielded zircons giving a U-Pb discordia age of 439±7 million years (late Ordovician or Silurian).

The earliest Paleoproterozoic supracrustal rocks in Koillismaa, northern Finland - Their petrographic and geochemical characteristics and lithostratigraphy [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 2003
The 2.44 Ga Koillismaa layered igneous complex (KLIC) in northern Finland is interpreted to have formed as a consequence of early Paleoproterozoic continental rifting.

Mixed metamorphic and fluid graphite deposition in Palaeoproterozoic supracrustal rocks of the Lewisian Complex, NW Scotland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Graphite deposits may form alternatively by metamorphism of sedimentary rocks and from fluids. Both types occur in supracrustal successions within the Lewisian Complex of Northwest Scotland, and similarly in Palaeoproterozoic supracrustal rocks across ...

SIMS U-Pb, Sm-Nd isotope and geochemical study of an arkosite-amphibolite suite, Peräpohja Schist Belt: Evidence for ca. 1.98 Ga A-type felsic magmatism in northern Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 2005
In the northern and north-eastern part of the Perädpohja Schist Belt, northern Finland, an extensive supracrustal rock unit has been identified which is composed of alternating amphibolitic and arkositic components.

Early Neoproterozoic Tectonics in the Godhra–Chhota Udepur Sector: Evidence for Two-Stage Accretion in the Great Indian Proterozoic Fold Belt

open access: yesLithosphere, 2022
The Great Indian Proterozoic Fold Belt (GIPFOB) is a curviplanar highly-tectonized zone of Precambrian crystalline rocks. In the GIPFOB, the N/NNE-striking western arm (the Aravalli Delhi Fold Belt, ADFB) and the E-striking southern arm consisting of the

Structural evolution of the Vuotso area, Finnish Lapland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 2003
The Vuotso area is structurally interesting because the fold interference pattern in rocks of central Lapland changes into thrust-related foliation of the Lapland Granulite Belt.

The 1.88 Ga old Mäntylä Complex, central Finland: emplacement and deformation of mafic to felsic plutonic rocks and associated Mo mineralization [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1992
The Mäntylä complex is part of the extensive Central Finland Granitoid Complex. The intrusive sequence was established from contact relations as well as from structural and petrographic criteria.

Seawater signatures in the supracrustal Lewisian Complex, Scotland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Marble in the supracrustal rocks of the Lewisian Complex, Tiree, includes chlorine-bearing amphiboles, chlorine-rich apatite, sulphur-rich scapolite, albite and phlogopite, all of which are regarded as evidence for evaporites in other metamorphosed ...
