Geology of the Eoarchean, >3.95Ga, Nulliak supracrustal rocks in the Saglek Block, northern Labrador, Canada: the oldest geological evidence for plate tectonics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Earth is a unique planet, which has been highly evolved, diversified and complicated through geologic time, and underwent many key events, including giant impact, magma ocean, core formation, large-scale mantle differentiation and late heavy ...

Contribution to the knowledge of the geological evolution of the Riacho do Pontal orogenic system – PE, BA, PI [PDF]

open access: yesGeologia USP. Série Científica, 2015
The Riacho do Pontal System (RPS) is just the central part of a long Neoproterozoic orogenic development placed at the northern periphery of the São Francisco Craton (SFC), from northeast (Sergipano belt) to southwest (Rio Preto belt).

Precambrian crustal evolution and Cretaceous–Palaeogene faulting in West Greenland: Pre-Nagssugtoqidian crustal evolution in West Greenland: geology, geochemistry and deformation of supracrustal and granitic rocks north-east of Kangaatsiaq [PDF]

open access: yesGeological Survey of Denmark and Greenland Bulletin, 2006
The area north-east of Kangaatsiaq features polyphase grey orthogneisses, supracrustal rocks and Kangaatsiaq granite exposed within a WSW–ENE-trending synform.

U–Pb zircon ages of the host rocks of the Juomasuo Au–Co–Cu deposit, northeastern Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 2017
The Salittu Formation is one of the few metavolcanic successions in the U-Pb zircon single grain dating using the LA-MC-ICP-MS technique was utilized to determine the age of the host rocks of the Juomasuo Au-Co-Cu deposit located in the late Archean ...

Deformation history of the Palaeoproterozoic Svecofennian supracrustal rocks at Hamrånge, south-central Sweden

open access: yes
The west-central part of the Palaeoproterzoic Fennoscandian Shield consists of different lithological units: the marine Bothnian basin, granitoids formed in an active continental margin (the Ljusdal Domain, LjD), and a continental back-arc magmatic ...

The Keivy Domain of the Kola Granulite–Gneiss Area on the Baltic Shield: Most Ancient Median Massif of the Continental Crust

open access: yesGeosciences, 2023
Studies of lithotectonic formations within the Keivy domain of the NE Baltic Shield have shown that the domain was tectonically overlapped by adjacent microcontinents during regional collision processes in the Late Archean.

Supracrustal rocks in the Ammassalik region, South-East Greenland

open access: yesRapport Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse, 1989
Large belts of supracrustal rocks are abundant in the Ammassalik region of S.E. Greenland, and are referred to collectively as the Siportoq supracrustal association. They comprise overwhelmingly metasediments, mainly of quartz-rich or semipelitic composition, with variable proportions of quartz, kyanite, sillimanite, garnet and biotite.

Eoarchean subduction-like magmatism recorded in 3750 Ma mafic–ultramafic rocks of the Ukaliq supracrustal belt (Québec)

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceOur understanding of the nature of crustal formation in the Eoarchean is limited by the scarcity and poor preservation of the oldest rocks and variable and imperfect preservation of protolith magmatic signatures.

Precambrian crustal evolution and Cretaceous–Palaeogene faulting in West Greenland: Zircon geochronology from the Kangaatsiaq–Qasigiannguit region, the northern part of the 1.9–1.8 Ga Nagssugtoqidian orogen, West Greenland [PDF]

open access: yesGeological Survey of Denmark and Greenland Bulletin, 2006
The Kangaatsiaq–Qasigiannguit region in the northern part of the Palaeoproterozoic Nagssugtoqidian orogen of West Greenland consists of poly-deformed orthogneisses and minor occurrences of interleaved, discontinuous supracrustal belts. Laser ablation ICP-
