Ultra–Efficient and Selective Gold Separation via Second–Sphere Coordination of Aurous Dihalide Using a Nonporous Amorphous Superadsorbent

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A covalent organic superphane cage serves as a nonporous amorphous superadsorbent for highly efficient and selective gold separation. This material uniquely captures linear aurous dihalide ions, achieving exceptional uptake capacity and selectivity, and proving effective even in seawater, offering a scalable, eco–friendly solution to gold scarcity ...

Squaraine Dyes for Organic Photomultiplication Photodetectors with 220% External Quantum Efficiency at 1240 nm

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a range of squaraine dyes is reported with maximum absorption in solution above 1100 nm. Near‐infrared sensitive organic photomultiplication photodetectors are developed. Photomultiplication occurs via squaraine hole trap‐induced injection of electrons from the external circuit. Photodetectors achieve and external quantum efficiency of
