Surface-Enhanced Fluorescence from Polypropylene Substrates
2017Surface-enhanced fluorescence of molecular probes is a highly developing field providing a number of new methods in chemical and biomedical analysis. Fluorescence enhancement effect depends on size and shape of the metallic nanoparticles, its optical absorption properties, distance between them and fluorophore (Gaponenko SV, Introduction to ...

Mechanisms of Spectral Profile Modification in Surface-Enhanced Fluorescence
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2007We study the importance of an often-overlooked aspect of surface-enhanced fluorescence (SEF): the spectral profile modification (SPM) that should accompany any plasmon-resonance-mediated enhanceme...

Silicon-assisted surface enhanced fluorescence toward improved assay performances
Nanotechnology, 2020Abstract A novel scheme of silicon-assisted surface enhanced fluorescence (SEF) is presented for SEF-based assays, where the blank signal suppression and the fluorescence signal enhancement is combined. The P-doped, (100) oriented silicon substrate is used to quench the fluorescence of Rose Bengal (RB) molecules attached to it ...

Surface enhanced fluorescence effect improves the in vivo detection of amyloid aggregates
Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology and Medicine, 2022The β-amyloid (Aβ) peptide is one of the key etiological agents in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The in vivo detection of Aβ species is challenging in all stages of the illness. Currently, the development of fluorescent probes allows the detection of Aβ in animal models in the near-infrared region (NIR).

Surface-enhanced fluorescence microscopy on a smartphone (Conference Presentation)
Optics and Biophotonics in Low-Resource Settings IV, 2018Development of portable and cost-effective optical imaging devices is essential for quantification of molecular bioassays at the point of care (POC). Mobile phone-based microscopy tools have shown great potential as biomedical reader platforms due to their small size, large distribution volume, and constantly improving optical properties.

Surface enhanced fluorescence by porous alumina with nanohole arrays
Science China Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy, 2012The fluorescence enhancement of Rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) fluorophore in the close vicinity of porous alumina film with ordered nanohole arrays is investigated. Experimental observations show that the nonmetallic substrate with hole arrays enhances the fluorescence intensity.

Surface-Enhancement of Fluorescence Near Noble Metal Nanostructures
2007In this chapter the phenomenon of surface-enhanced fluorescence has been discussed. Beginning with the discovery of surface-enhanced Raman scattering in the late 1970’s, this review has shown SEF in the context of the broader surface-enhanced spectroscopies.
