This paper introduces an integral approach to the study of plasma-surface interactions during the catalytic growth of selected nanostructures (NSs). This approach involves basic understanding of the plasma-specific effects in NS nucleation and growth ...

Surface Crack Shape Evolution Modelling using an RMS SIF approach [PDF]
The majority of fatigue cracks in thick plate and tubular sections in structural components are two-dimensional surface cracks having significant propagation lives before becoming critical.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Аlgorithmic and Conceptual Approach to Figure Surface Measurement
Surface measurement is an important topic of the school curricula which is closely related to other mathematical topics and to the real world. The results of numerous international studies show that students' achievements in the area of surface ...

Variational Methods in Surface Parameterization [PDF]
A surface parameterization is a function that maps coordinates in a 2-dimensional parameter space to points on a surface. This thesis investigates two kinds of parameterizations for surfaces that are disc-like in shape.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Computational Approach to Hyperelliptic Riemann Surfaces [PDF]
We present a computational approach to general hyperelliptic Riemann surfaces in Weierstrass normal form. The surface is either given by a list of the branch points, the coefficients of the defining polynomial or a system of cuts for the curve. A canonical basis of the homology is introduced algorithmically for this curve.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
