Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Analysis of X-Ray Surface Brightness Radial Profiles in Several Relatively Symmetric Young Supernova Remnants

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Based on observations from XMM-Newton, we analyze the surface brightness radial profiles of several young supernova remnants (SNRs) with relatively symmetric structures. The surface brightness data are obtained from the MOS1, MOS2, and PN instruments. We

Surface Photometry of Bright Ellipticals [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
Surface brightness profiles of bright ellipticals (MV < −17, Ho = 100) in rich clusters and the field are reduced to structural parameters. Most fitting functions are found to be inadequate in describing the overall shape of profiles with only the r1/4 law providing a good match over the range of surface brightness from 19 to 24 mag arcsec−2.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Structural Characteristics and Stellar Composition of Low Surface Brightness Disk Galaxies

open access: yes, 1993
We present UBVI surface photometry of a sample of low surface brightness (LSB) disk galaxies. LSB disk galaxies are fairly well described as exponential disks with no preferred value for either scale length, central surface brightness, or rotational ...

Spatial distribution of low-surface-brightness galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1994
Using redshift samples, we calculate the cross-correlation functions of LSB galaxies with normal galaxies in complete samples (i.e. CfA and IRAS), which enables us to compare directly the amplitudes and shapes of the correlation functions. For pair separations $r\gs 2\mpc$, we find that the shape is in agreement with that of the correlation functions ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Comparison of Machine Learning Algorithms for Simulating Brightness Temperature Using Data from the Tianjun Soil Moisture Observation Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The L-band radiative transfer-forward modeling plays a crucial role in data assimilation for meteorological forecasting. By utilizing information from the underlying surface (typically land surface parameters and variables), such as soil moisture, soil ...

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.
