Surface states and charge accumulation states on reconstructed InAs(001) surfaces

open access: yesSurface Science, 2015
Abstract Using angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, we investigate the electronic structure of InAs(001) surfaces having different stoichiometries, i.e. the indium rich c(8 × 2) / 4 × 2 surface and the arsenic-rich c(2 × 8) / 2 × 4 surface. We also compare surfaces having the same reconstructions but prepared by different techniques; by ion ...

Characteristics of Surface Charge Accumulation on Direct Current GIL Insulators Under Different Dominant Mechanisms Considering Surface Trapping Effect

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
The existing mathematical models for charge accumulation at the gas-solid interface can hardly illustrate some microscopic mechanisms, which need improvement.

Charge transport and accumulation around the cone-type insulator in SF(6)-filled 550 kV DC GIL

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The gas-insulated transmission line (GIL) has the advantages of large transmission capacity, high operation reliability and environmental friendliness. It is suitable for the high voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission of hydropower stations or

Hydrogen on III-V (110) surfaces: Charge accumulation and STM signatures [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2013
The behavior of hydrogen on the 110 surfaces of III-V semiconductors is examined using ab initio density functional theory. It is confirmed that adsorbed hydrogen should lead to a charge accumulation layer in the case of InAs, but shown here that it should not do so for other related III-V semiconductors.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Investigating the Effect of Metal Particles and Air Gap Defects on the Surface Charge Distribution of Epoxy Resin Using a Modified Capacitive Probe

open access: yesIEEE Access
Metal particle and air gap defects on the surface of insulators can induce localized electric field distortions and exacerbate charge accumulation, subsequently triggering surface flashover.

Suppression of surface charge accumulation on Al2O3-filled epoxy resin insulator under dc voltage by direct fluorination

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
Surface charge accumulation on insulators under high dc voltage is a major factor that may lead to the reduction of insulation levels in gas insulated devices. In this paper, disc insulators made of Al2O3-filled epoxy resin were surface fluorinated using

Study on surface charges accumulation characteristics of insulators for ±500 kV DC-GIL based on multi-physics coupling model [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
When a DC voltage is applied externally, a large amount of charge accumulates on the surface of the insulating components in the gas insulated metal-enclosed transmission line (GIL), significantly reducing the flashover voltage along the surface and ...
